The Right Kind of Weird

Image
Here's a card I made for the Lost Coast Designs March Challenge: Kids/Funny! The bright colors, fun glitter and funny sentiment would be great for the pre-teen in your life. And since many of us consider ourselves young at heart, then it's basically a great card for anyone! I used the Yoga Cat 9 , Silly Gnome , Brush Stokes and Right Kind of Weird stamps to put this together. Follow along with these photos to learn how it was made: This is a great challenge for building up a card stash to send to the young people in your life. Who doesn't love some fun Snail Mail?!? Upload your stamped creation to the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity for your chance to win a prize. Entries due by the end of the month.

Christmas Kitty

Image
It's a bit strange to be making Christmas cards in July, especially when it's 100 degrees outside! But if you're someone who likes to plan ahead for the holidays, now probably isn't too soon to start thinking about what special cards you'd like to make for loved ones. Here's one idea for you: This card uses the Angel Cat , Brush Strokes , and Party Words stamps. Have fun making the background in whatever color inks and patterns strike your fancy! Here's a step by step explanation of what I did: We'd love to have you join in July's Christmas Challenge on the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity ! Submit your creation by the end of the month for your chance to win a prize. Good luck!

Princess of Everything

Image
This month we're celebrating kids and humor for the Lost Coast Designs May Challenge. Who hasn't had a day where they thought being the Princess of Everything might be pretty nice?! This Princess of Everything stamp has a lot of fine details to it, so I felt it best to mount it onto a foam cushion to make sure everything stamped out perfectly. Good news! You can purchase this material to adhere to your unmounted rubber stamps on the Lost Coast Designs website. Follow along with this photo tutorial on how I created this card: There's nearly a full month remaining for you to submit your Kids/Humor creation to the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity. Go for it! You might even win this month's prize.

You Matter

Image
I saw a gift tag on Pinterest that served as inspiration for this card featuring the Art Nouveau Faces , Brush Strokes and You Matter stamps: The creation of this card kind of morphed as I went along. I used pigment inks, dye inks, embossing folders, embossing powders, alcohol markers and embellisments to bring it to life. The final touch was a hat sticker purchased at the Dollar Store that I colored to fit in better with the card's color scheme. I wanted to add a hat because of the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity's May Challenge: Where's My Hat? Follow along with this photo tutorial to see how it all came together: This card is the result of playing around with inks and colors as I went, not knowing how it would all turn out in the end. That's the beauty of creating--it's okay to jump in without fully knowing the end result. Just go for it! And then submit your creation for this month's Lost Coast Designs May Challenge--there's still plenty of time.

Alice's Adventures

Image
All women were once young girls, so I think this card still qualifies for the Women Challenge hosted by Lost Coast Designs . I used the Four Alices and Brush Strokes stamps from Lost Coast Designs and the Courage and Cusswords stamp from Carmen's Veranda . For the sentiment shown here, I cut off the lower lines of the phrase to focus on the adventure aspect, something Alice is known for. Follow along this pictorial to know how I put it all together: There's one more day left for you to submit a stamped creation to the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity as part of the Women Challenge. Who knows? Maybe yours will be selected to win a prize!

Stand Out!

Image
The older I get, the more confident I feel in who I am. I worry SO MUCH LESS about fitting in than when I was a teenager. This card embodies what I hope we can all learn to appreciate about ourselves--being unique and standing out is what makes this world a beautiful place! This card uses the TaDa Mouse , Brush Strokes and Born To Stand Out stamps from Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda . As you can see in the following photo tutorial, only the upper portion of the full mouse stamp can be seen.  There's still a few days left in January for you to upload a Bright & Cheerful s tamped creation to the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity . It's your chance to get creative and maybe even win a prize!

Gnome Tag

Image
Attaching a beautiful tag to a gift bag is a memorable way to show someone just how much you care. Who wouldn't love seeing these cute gnomes on their wrapped present?  Follow along with these photos to see how this tag was created. I've used the Silly Gnome and Gnome with Flower here, but there are many more fun gnome options to choose from on the Lost Coast Design's Catalogue . This month we're celebrating GNOME-vember on the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity. We invite you to create something with a gnome stamp and post it to the site for your chance to win a prize!

Basket Witch

Hello! Aimee here. Ever since I was a little kid, I LOVED making Halloween artwork. I have a memory of being in First Grade (age 7) and drawing a haunted house in white crayon on white paper, then using black watercolor to wash over the paper to reveal the creepy house. How fun is it that as adults we can still color spooky scenes?! This card uses the Lost Coast Designs Dancing Skeletons , Brush Strokes and Mother Goose People stamps. Follow along with these photos to learn how I made this card: You'll have to check out the amazing selection of Halloween stamps in the  Lost Coast Designs Catalogue . It wouldn't be October without a  Halloween challenge ! Submit your creation to the  Lost Coast Portal to Creativity  for your chance to win a prize.
