Expand Your Horizons

Image
There's just a few more days to submit your creation to the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity's June Challenge: Lemon/Lime or Terra Cotta/Turquoise Color Scheme. Here's a simple creation where the colors keep it fresh and clean looking: I used a Mother Goose People stamp and a sentiment from Travel Quotes . Wouldn't flying on a goose be an exciting way to get around? Maybe a bit terrifying, too, haha. Follow along with this photo tutorial to see how I made the card: Join in the fun and maybe you'll win a prize! Good luck. And happy stamping.

Butterfly Reminder

Image
Who remembers those fluttery feelings when the person we have a crush on shows interest in us? I'm lucky enough to still feel butterflies when my husband catches my eye from across the room. This card is in honor of that! The Lost Coast Portal to Creativity is hosting a June challenge with a choice of two color schemes: Lemon/Lime and Turquoise/Terra Cotta. I used the Large Flourish stamp from Lost Coast Designs and the Butterfly Reminder sentiment from Carmen's Veranda . Follow along with this photo tuturial see how I put it together: You have until the end of June to submit a stamped entry using the two color themes for this month's challenge. Have fun! And happy stamping.

Bloom Where You're Planted

Image
This month on the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity we're celebrating children! I invite you to look through  your stamps that contain a child's image and create something to submit to the May Challenge. Since I only have one stamp with the image of a child, I thought I'd try to use it in a new and different way: For this card I used the Princess of Everything stamp and one stamp from the Pieces of Calligraphy set. Follow along with this photo tutorial to see how I put it together: Now it's YOUR turn! Stamp out something with a child's image and submit to the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity by the end of May for your chance to win a prize. Go for it!

Princess of Everything

Image
This month we're celebrating kids and humor for the Lost Coast Designs May Challenge. Who hasn't had a day where they thought being the Princess of Everything might be pretty nice?! This Princess of Everything stamp has a lot of fine details to it, so I felt it best to mount it onto a foam cushion to make sure everything stamped out perfectly. Good news! You can purchase this material to adhere to your unmounted rubber stamps on the Lost Coast Designs website. Follow along with this photo tutorial on how I created this card: There's nearly a full month remaining for you to submit your Kids/Humor creation to the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity. Go for it! You might even win this month's prize.

Put On the Hat

Image
There are still a couple of days left in April to enter the Lost Coast Designs "Where's My Hat" Challenge. Here's a card that reflects those times when we need to stand up for ourselves. That being said, I'm a big believer in doing everything with kindness and compassion, so try not to be too "witchy" haha.   I wanted to use this Mother Goose People stamp for the Challenge, but I didn't have a sentiment stamp in my personal collection to reflect the message I wanted to send. When that happens, I go to the internet and look up quotes that I can handwrite, and that's what I did here. Follow along with this photo tutorial to see how I put the card together: Happy stamping, everyone!

You Matter

Image
I saw a gift tag on Pinterest that served as inspiration for this card featuring the Art Nouveau Faces , Brush Strokes and You Matter stamps: The creation of this card kind of morphed as I went along. I used pigment inks, dye inks, embossing folders, embossing powders, alcohol markers and embellisments to bring it to life. The final touch was a hat sticker purchased at the Dollar Store that I colored to fit in better with the card's color scheme. I wanted to add a hat because of the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity's May Challenge: Where's My Hat? Follow along with this photo tutorial to see how it all came together: This card is the result of playing around with inks and colors as I went, not knowing how it would all turn out in the end. That's the beauty of creating--it's okay to jump in without fully knowing the end result. Just go for it! And then submit your creation for this month's Lost Coast Designs May Challenge--there's still plenty of time.

Alice's Adventures

Image
All women were once young girls, so I think this card still qualifies for the Women Challenge hosted by Lost Coast Designs . I used the Four Alices and Brush Strokes stamps from Lost Coast Designs and the Courage and Cusswords stamp from Carmen's Veranda . For the sentiment shown here, I cut off the lower lines of the phrase to focus on the adventure aspect, something Alice is known for. Follow along this pictorial to know how I put it all together: There's one more day left for you to submit a stamped creation to the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity as part of the Women Challenge. Who knows? Maybe yours will be selected to win a prize!
