So Near It's Here!

Happy Halloween! The big day has FINALLY arrived. Time to dress up, grab your candy, and get ready to trick-or-treat.  This card was made with the Day of the Dead Woman , Brush Strokes and Witches Go Riding stamps. Speaking of Day of the Dead, that 2,000 year old Mexican holiday begins tomorrow. Follow this photo tutorial for how the card was made: The winner of this month's 31 Days Halloween will be chosen from entries submitted to the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity by tonight. But not to worry if you don't have time to make a Halloween creation today-- the new challenge for November, Festive Fun, begins tomorrow!

Owl Gift Tag

Image
Around this time in October, we have a chance to give treat bags to the kiddos in our life. Here's a kid-friendly tag to make those little gifts extra cute! The tag features one of Lost Coast Design's newer stamps from the Cartoon Kids set--a friendly little owl perched upon some hand-drawn branches. The edges of the tag were stamped with a Brush Strokes stamp and then heat embossed in black. The sticker embellishments were purchased at a Dollar Tree store in their Halloween aisle. Follow along to see how I made the tag: What's your favorite candy to put into treat bags? I love sour gummy anything--yum! I hope you have fun bringing joy into the lives of the kiddos in your life. Get creative with your own tag design and upload it to the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity for part of this month's Halloween Challenge. Entries due by October 31.

Hooray for Halloween!

I love the feeling of action this Day of the Dead Man stamp evokes! He reminds me of a little kid running out the door on Halloween night to collect a bag full of candy.  This running skeleton is actually wielding a knife as he sprints, so if that's not the look you're going for, you can cover up the knife with an embellishment or sentiment placard. I used the Daffodils background stamp for the color-blocked areas, but any background pattern would work! Celebrate the Halloween season with us by uploading your own creation to the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity . You have until the spookiest night of the year...October 31!

Halloween Moon

There's something about October and the upcoming Halloween celebrations that make me feel like a kid again! Cooler air, spooky night skies and houses decorated in clever ways. Creating Halloween scenes for greeting cards are among my favorite to make! This card was created with the Yoga Cat 9 , Shrubbery , Brush Strokes and Witches Go Riding stamps. The silver planter is a sticker from a set I purchased at a Dollar Tree store. Follow along to see how I made this card: Get creative and use any color combination for the night sky--reds and oranges would look equally spooky! I hope you'll join in on the fun and participate in the Lost Coast Designs 31 Days of Halloween Challenge. Upload your creation to the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity by October 31 for your chance to win a prize.
